The elbow is a simple joint but is still a cause of much discomfort. Most often this is because we over-use it . We use it for sports or work and we do the same motion, usually with lot of force behind it, over and over and over again. Human joints just were not meant to be used this way. Typing and keeping the hand on the mouse when at the computer are actually very damaging to the elbow.

Sometimes the damage to the elbow first shows up as numbness in the hands. Elbow damage can be very sneaky in it's presentation.

We are designed to do movements with strength and force but not with repetition. In the elbow the muscles start to pull away from the bones causing inflammation and pain. Pain killers only cover the problem and do nothing to heal it. Proper care includes Manipulation, ice, splinting, time and Muscle Treatment.

Hand and Wrist problems can come from muscles attached to the elbow. Read more about that in my page on Hand and Wrist Pain.
